Step 4 - Compact the sub-base
The best way to compact the sub-base material is to use a plate compactor
or a double-drum roller, which can be rented from most local shops. Before
you begin compacting, gently spray the sub-base surface with a light film
of water. This will enhance the compressed effect on the soil and improve
the overall finish.
Now, you are ready to compact the sub-base.
